Regina Gonzalez

Of Counsel

Regina Gonzalez, Of Counsel, advises federal firearms and explosives licensee clients on regulatory compliance issues under the Gun Control Act of 1968, National Firearms Act of 1934, International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, and federal explosives laws. This includes advising clients on internal compliance controls, licensing, and registration, as well as guiding them through the inspection process. She has experience representing clients through adverse inspection outcomes up to and including revocation hearings. Ms. Gonzalez specializes in performing regulatory diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions of federal firearms and explosives licensees. Ms. Gonzalez also specializes in clients on all aspects of firearms and ammunition excise tax. Her expanding practice includes international trade compliance and regulatory policy affecting the trade. Clients include large defense contractors, research institutions, manufacturers, importers, and distributors.

Ms. Gonzalez is a native of Northeast Ohio. She earned her BA with honors in History from the University of Cincinnati in 2006. She spent a term interning with the DC Office of the Attorney General in Washington, DC as well as a research term with the Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ms. Gonzalez earned her JD from Cleveland State University College of Law in 2009. During law school, she studied abroad in Greece, Italy, and Spain, focusing her studies on international law. She has additional legal experience as an executive attorney recruiter and as Chief of Staff to a university Vice President.

Admitted to practice in Ohio and the District of Columbia, as well as the Northern District of Ohio.
